When can I get my kitten?

I require kittens to have had their 8 and 12-week vaccinations before leaving for their new home. I want them to be eating dry food and be healthy. After all the above, they may go to their new home.

What do I feed my kitten?

The kittens are fed Royal Kitten #3 canned food and Stella & Chewy Raw Coated Kibble Kitten Grain-Free Dry. I recommend keeping them on high-quality grain-free food.

Is my kitten litter box trained?

It is instinctive for kittens to use the litter box by smell. They are typically litter trained by 5 weeks. However, it is important in a new home to have the litter box close and very accessible. If at a later time, you wish to move it, just be sure they are put in it and know where to go. Put the baby in the box periodically. If there is an accident, do not allow them to repeat and they need to be in a restrictive area such as a bathroom. If they are allowed to go to the same place where there was an accident, it can become a learned behavior even if you do everything to eliminate the odor. This rarely happens, and if it does, please call me and I will assist with a plan.

How do I bring a new kitten into my home?

I recommend putting them in a bathroom or a small laundry room initially. This is the bonding time, and before letting them roam the house, they are most likely to become bonded with you. The bedroom can delay bonding as they may hide under the bed and be scared. Never try to get them if they are hiding. Wand toys are good for getting a hiding kitten to come out. If there are other pets in the house, let them be together only with supervision at first. Slowly integrate your kitten into your home.
